You’ve been living in your landlord’s driveway for two months, waiting for the vet to give your pups the all-clear to hit the road again. Then, you roll into Casia Lodge, where luxury meets the wild beauty of the Methow Valley—and let me tell you, it’s everything you didn’t know you needed. From soaking in a bathtub with stunning valley views to indulging in food so fresh it practically walked in from the garden, Casia Lodge will steal your heart, just like it did mine.

Falling in Love With Casia Lodge
Let’s start with Debbie—one of the owners. I fell in love with her the moment she gave me a tour of the place. She and her husband, Jason, created this stunning lodge out of a passion for nature, hospitality, and locally-sourced everything. Debbie’s energy is infectious—she told me all about how they turned this historic Tice Ranch into an adults-only haven where you can truly unwind. If you’re a fan of rustic charm with luxury perks, this is your spot.
The Rooms: Cozy, Elegant, and Adults-Only
Casia Lodge has 12 rooms—each one beautifully unique, some with wood-burning fireplaces, others with private balconies that let you take in the full glory of the North Cascades. Room rates start around 400 a night, but trust me, the level of attention to detail is worth every penny. Now, if you’re traveling with dogs like I always am, you’ll want to book the dog-friendly cabin. It was the perfect place for us to hunker down with Disco and Sushi after our long driveway stay! But the other rooms are pet-free, creating a peaceful retreat for everyone.
What to Do at Casia Lodge?
Honestly? You could do nothing at all. Seriously, I talked to a few guests who come here just to relax and eat the most incredible food—no itineraries, no to-do lists, just pure bliss.
But if you’re looking for a little adventure, Casia Lodge has plenty:
- Horseback Riding:You can book a ride across their 300-acre property. Sunset rides are especially magical—you’ll feel like you’re in a movie.
- Soak in the Pool (Whenever You Want): No set pool hours here—because, as Debbie says, "We're all adults!" So whether it’s a moonlight dip or a midday lounge, the pool is always waiting for you.
- Fishing (with Chef Jason!): Imagine fishing alongside a James Beard Award-winning chef. Jason takes you out to his favorite spots in the valley, and you can even fish in their private pond. They raise their own salmon here and harvest them in the fall. Yep, the salmon on your plate might be one Jason helped raise—talk about farm-to-table!

The Culinary Experience
The food at Casia Lodge deserves its own fan club. Jason’s kitchen is thoughtful, sourcing everything locally—from fresh vegetables out of their garden to the seasonal fruits picked straight from their orchards. They even raise some of the produce on-site. Every dish feels like a love letter to the Methow Valley, perfectly balancing rustic flavors with refined culinary techniques. From the five-course dinners to casual bites, you’re in for a treat every meal.
And can we talk about that breakfast? House-made pastries, fresh granola, savory egg dishes—it’s the kind of meal that’ll fuel you through a day of exploring, or, let’s be honest, lounging around the lodge doing absolutely nothing.
Nearby Attractions
If you’re feeling like venturing out (though it’s hard to leave Casia), there’s plenty nearby:
- North Cascades National Park: Only a short drive away, this park is a must for those craving epic hikes and jaw-dropping views.
- Winthrop, WA: Just 20 minutes from the lodge, Winthrop is an adorable Old West-style town with shops, restaurants, and fun events year-round. Perfect for a little day trip!
Larie’s Tips
- Book Early:With only 12 rooms, Casia fills up fast, especially in peak seasons.
- The Cabin for Dog Parents:If you’ve got pups, the dog-friendly cabin is your go-to. It’s cozy, private, and your dogs will love it just as much as you do.
- Do Nothing (Seriously): Don’t feel like you need to plan activities. Some of the best memories are made lounging by the pool or sitting by the fire, sipping on a local wine.
- Soak in the Tub: After months in our RV, finally soaking in a deep bathtub with a view of the Methow Valley was absolute heaven. Trust me, book the room with the tub!
Larie’s Final Thoughts
I know it sounds cliché, but Casia Lodge is more than just a place to stay—it’s an experience. From the incredible food to the warm hospitality, it’s the kind of spot where you can truly recharge. Whether you’re here to ride horses, fish for your own dinner, or simply do nothing at all, you’ll leave feeling like a new person.
